Here's how today's carpool conversation went:
Me: Why was Mrs. N (her teacher) gone today?
Paige: Her mom was sick.
Kate: NO. . her mom passed away. . . .that means she DIED!
Paige: Ya, and now she has to live with Heavenly Father.
Kate: Ya, and when we live with Heavenly Father he gets us a new body. He fixes them. He keeps all of the new bodies you know.
Me: Really?
Kate: Ya, he's The Fixer, and He doesn't even use tools!
The Fixer. . . I don't think you'll find that in the Bible!

Camping

We went to the ward campout Friday and stayed through Saturday morning. We roasted marshmallows, sang songs around the campfire with the Whitfields, hardly slept all night and vowed to do it all again sometime soon! In the middle of the night Paige could hear the elk bugling and the coyotes howling and it kind of freaked her out. I detered her by telling her that an elk is like a deer. . . I was trying to keep it friendly for the wee hours of the night.
This is how the morning's conversation went:
Paige: Dad, did you hear the elk in the night?
Shane: That wasn't an elk, it was a velociraptor. (nice, huh!)
Paige: (thoughtful pause) NO, DAD! It was an elk. . . that's like a little deer. ("little deer"being said in her cutesy princess voice)
Shane: A little deer with giant antlers that's is as big as a horse!
Shane: A little deer with giant antlers that's is as big as a horse!
I left out the "as big as a horse with long antlers" for the sake of our sleep. I really didn't want her in our bed with us.
