Optimus Prime

I was just too proud of Ty's art today. Check out those details! (If you read this, Summer, don't show Max, because Tyler drew it for him.)

CHEERS and JEERS

CHEERS for Spray 'N' Wash. So far it has come through for me, and I've been using it for at least 8 years. Granted, I don't work in a car repair shop or at a fast food chain but kids do take their toll on things. Here's to Spray 'N' Wash.

JEERS to Spray 'N' Washing a whole batch of laundry because my husband's son left a miniature candybar in the pocket of his church shirt and it melted in the dryer, leaving dalmation-like chocolate spots on all of our dress clothes. (I can't claim him as mine in this situation because a piece of candy definitely wouldn't have been left in my pocket on a fast sunday. . . the wrapper maybe. NO, he's definitely Shane's kid this time.) I guess we'll see if the CHEERS for Spray 'N' Wash hold up under these circumstances. Who'd have thought a miniature candybar could do so much damage!

An Update: The clothes have been re-washed and I'm happy to say that the CHEERS still stand. I'll stick with Spray'N'Wash. The spots are gone!

FBR Open

We had such a great day at the FBR open today. What a perfect day to be out! The weather couldn't have been better. Amy, one of Shane's fellow doctors, generously volunteered to watch Paige for the day. We worried that bringing her along, she would get bored and start crying, or screaming or whining. . . all of which are not acceptable at a golf tournament. (Yet, often deemed acceptable at home. . . go figure!) That is, unless you are on the 16th hole at the FBR open. Talk about drunken madness! A tired Paige would have fit right in. We got to the 16th just in time to squeeze between the tower and the stand with perfect view of the green. There was literally no room to turn around. Cameras were not allowed, dang-it! I would have had a great shot at Sabbatini and several others that came through while we were there. Baseball fans would enjoy watching golf if they hung around at that hole. I've never heard so much booing in my life.
There were other highlights to mention. We tried to bribe Tyler with $7 if he would hollar out to Phil on the 11th hole. We thought he might do it, but at the last minute he chickened. It's probably better that way. Phil hit the water on the shot and didn't have the happiest face on when he walked past Ty. We enjoyed the walking, the hotdogs, the hamburgers and plenty of sunshine. And, by the way, if I would have had my camera, I'm sure my crappy kit lens could have caught a shot as sweet as this. . . .

or maybe I'm just dreaming! I have to admit, I would have loved to get my hands on one of those passing professional zoom lenses that were as long as my leg.

Just turn it off!

So. . . for a couple of months now I've been fighting "morning sickness", or as I like to call it, all day sickness. To top it all off, we've all come into a lovely cold accompanied with fever, chills, stuffy nose and cough. Our best friend has been the T.V. My visiting teachers just came over to see me, and thank goodness for that because it forced me to actually clean my house and turn off that blasted T.V. What have I been thinking? Could I have filled my head with more garbage in the last 2 months. . . no, probably not! It's time to just turn it off. I may go through withdrawals, but I highly doubt it. Mostly I'll probably just find more time to read my scriptures, read a book, read Paige a book, clean my house, prepare dinner more than 5 minutes in advance, go for a nice long walk, teach Tyler how to ride his bike, put some thought into family home evening, bake(it sounds far fetched, but you never know!)call a friend, write a thank-you note, take my kids to the park, take a picture of my kids doing something besides watch t.v., finish the laundry all the way down to actually folding the clothes and putting them away, meet a new friend, play the piano. . . and the list could go on. AMAZING what can be done in a day. And just remember. . . only you can prevent Lethargy. I have to give a big SHOUT OUT to Shasta and Meredith. I couldn't ask for better VTeachers!

Baby Theobald

We went to our first doctor visit yesterday and here is a picture. Isn't he/she adorable! We're due on July 31st!

Happy Birthday Barbs and Ty!

I know I'm a little late here, but Ty just doesn't feel that his birthday is complete until he has his "official" birthday party. We had it Friday night at Peter Piper Pizza and the kids had a blast. So here's happy birthday to Barbs and Tyler. We love you both! I can't believe that Tyler is 7. He's looking older every day, and I must say, Barbs, you're looking younger!
