Rapunzel

She's wanted to be Ariel in the Pink dress for months. Just the other day she decides she wants to be Rapunzel. . . hooray! I have a pattern for that I say. Little do I know this is no COSTUME pattern, even though it says so on the front. No, this could be worn to Prom if needs be. I start cutting it out and lo and behold, it calls for a facing. Then, as I read on, it calls for a zipper. . WHAT!? This is a COSTUME people. Someone needs to write butterick a letter (right MOM!) Anyway, it turned out cute despite the fretting. And the wig. . . $5.50 at Walmart! Yeah, go Walmart! (I rarely cheer for such retail monster that is consuming the world, but today I'll give them the high five they deserve. . . for wigs, that is.)

Now we need to discuss these princess hands that Paige has going on here. A little disturbing, but points to the fact that she could someday be employed by Disney at a theme park. OK, I'll let her make princess hands, just as long as they don't show up in her wedding photos later on.

One costume down, two to go. I'll post them as I finish them. I'm such a procrastinator.

photo spot

I was just trying out a new photo spot for a family tomorrow. The kids were so good tonight, and I'm pretty sure that Paige thinks she's a model. Check out this pose. I didn't even tell
her what to do.

I've been pampered!

Saturday was my birthday and I sure was spoiled.

It all started Friday night when Shane stood behind me while I was editing a batch of photos. 30 minutes later photoshop was still frozen with the one picture I had opened, and the conversation went something like this:
Shane: Does it always take this long?
me: yep (As I close the prompt telling me that my virtual memory is full)
Shane: We just need to get a new tower
me: yep
Shane: Well, let's go.
me: Go where?
Shane: To Best Buy (can't you hear the hallalujah chorus!)
me: SERIOUSLY!
And now it has taken me all of 5 minutes to post this entry with the lightening speed of this:

On Saturday, we practiced the primary program at the church, and the kids were amazing. They were reverent and they sang their little hearts out.

Next, we played volleyball at the church with our neighbors, Cindy and Kevin. The 2 on 2 volleys were amazing. Well. . . at least the one volley was amazing. Who are we kidding. . . we didn't even have a volley, but we sure laughed a lot!

And then, as if that wasn't way more than enough, this sweet man, with the help of a work bonus, took me to:

where we proceeded to eat ourselves into a butter and cream induced coma. We ate:
the most heavenly crab cakes in the world. . . mostly crab and very little cake.
Followed by creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, steak, salmon, roasted tomatoes, sourdough bread and the GRAND FINALE:

May I please have a moment of silence for the . . . creme brulee.

Now just let me tell you that you do not even NEED to drink wine while you dine here, because after eating this kind of a meal, you FEEL like you are on drugs. Do people really eat this way on a regular basis? How can I go back to tuna casserole, peanut butter sandwiches and tortilla soup? Wait, I know, I'll just remember that once, on my birthday, I ate enough fat and calories to sustain life for a whole month. That ought to do it. (It was SOOOO worth it!)

To top this all off, I had several birthday messages in my email box, in the mailbox and on the answering machine when I got home. Thanks everybody!

Dr visit

Morgan's 2 1/2 month stats (that were supposed to be done at 8 weeks. . oops) are:

Height: 24 1/4 inches (90%)
Weight: 11 lbs 6 oz (25-50%)
Head Circumference: 39 3/4 cm (50%)

She has also developed a little torticollis just like her big sister Paige. . . except it isn't as severe. Yippee-more stretches at diaper-changing time. They HATE it. They FIGHT it. It makes me feel bad, but it's all in the name of perfectly round noggins and heads that don't tilt to one side. I'm all for that.

Let's Play Tag

I've been tagged by Micaela and Amber. Here goes!
The tag: go to your fourth picture file, and post the fourth picture in that file... then tell the story.

AWWWW! Look what came up! It couldn't be more fitting for you Amber and Micaela. This is Tyler with messy rib-hands after eating at Jack's B-bcue in Memphis. Man, I miss that place.

I tag Jordan, Corinne, Jenny and Heidi!
