june birthday

Shane and I got to spend a lot of time together on his birthday, which was a nice change. We drove to Scottsdale together and I took pictures of his office building and staff. Then later in the day I drove back to Scottsdale and we had dinner at Ruth's Chris. YUM! When we got home, Paige had decorated for Shane with a little help from the babysitter. We had cookie cake, of course, and Shane opened his present.

The kids always love to snatch up the boxes. Ferb even got in on the action.

Happy Birthday Shane! We love you!

Ferb even sang "Happy Birthday" with us!

Tooth saga

Paige was nervous on Monday. She had to go to the dentist to have her tooth pulled. Happy gas is amazing, entertaining. . . and now, vanilla or orange scented. Are you kidding me? I want scented happy gas! Every time the dentist would touch her mouth, she would scream and then start laughing. At one point her feet and hands were both in the air. 20 minutes later she had her tooth in a little box and we were walking out the door with balloons. Not such a bad visit, all things considered.

When we got home she left a little paper trail for the tooth fairy. The first little note said:

"Please take only the items in this tooth box." (As if she was going to raid the room while she was there.)

The second note was next to it and read:

"p.s. Please sign here."
And she did.

The next morning, I overheard Paige say this to Tyler:

"When my tooth grows in, I'm sure going to miss that little hole."

blogger issues

so, I actually know how to spell "immediately". Blogger's issues will not allow me to edit the last post. It really bothers me that it's spelled wrong. . . . I'm talkin' about REALLY bothers me. Now that I've openly admitted the problem, maybe I can let it go. :)

girls camp. . . . check.

So, way back in the winter, I got a call. Stake girls camp director. I immediatley went into shock. Enter spring 2011. The stake underwent a massive re-alignment. That is when the blog took the back burner.

Camp was the week of the 5-8th of July. I have no pictures. All I have is the relief that comes from a fairly smoothly-run girls camp. Sweet relief.

We have done a lot of things this summer. Perhaps I was running on autopilot. Just one long checklist. Swimming lessons. . . check. . . football. . . check. . . summer reading. . . check. . .potty training. . . check. . . guitar lessons. . . check.

Photos of these events. . . no check. It's so unlike me.

I won't panic. We may be able to fit in a family camping trip and much more swimming before school starts in 3 weeks. . . that's right. . . 3 weeks. AHHH! How did the summer escape me?

Easter Weekend

I love Easter. Great church messages, family and friends and lots of treats.

This year we went to a cabin with friends. Paige played her little heart out with the girls and Tyler did his best to avoid the girls. We grilled hamburgers, played frisbee golf and played several revealing rounds of "Things." Tyler decided he was old enough to join in with the adults. I'm pretty sure he learned a lot. . . way too much. We Easter egg hunted and pigged out on candy and cookies.
