Rapunzel

She's wanted to be Ariel in the Pink dress for months. Just the other day she decides she wants to be Rapunzel. . . hooray! I have a pattern for that I say. Little do I know this is no COSTUME pattern, even though it says so on the front. No, this could be worn to Prom if needs be. I start cutting it out and lo and behold, it calls for a facing. Then, as I read on, it calls for a zipper. . WHAT!? This is a COSTUME people. Someone needs to write butterick a letter (right MOM!) Anyway, it turned out cute despite the fretting. And the wig. . . $5.50 at Walmart! Yeah, go Walmart! (I rarely cheer for such retail monster that is consuming the world, but today I'll give them the high five they deserve. . . for wigs, that is.)

Now we need to discuss these princess hands that Paige has going on here. A little disturbing, but points to the fact that she could someday be employed by Disney at a theme park. OK, I'll let her make princess hands, just as long as they don't show up in her wedding photos later on.

One costume down, two to go. I'll post them as I finish them. I'm such a procrastinator.

Okay, do you give sewing lessons? That is seriously adorable. And it's just like Paige to totally act the part.

I'm a procrastinator too. I'll have pictures up soon though. The costume looks great. At least you had a pattern. I had to totally make mine up.

K I wanted to make Sage a costume too, but I have zero creative genes and zero sewing talent! Do you give lessons?
She is the cutest Rap. I've ever seen.

I can't believe you made that and that the wig was $5.50! She looks wonderful! Poor Cameron is going in a sheet with holes if I don't get my act together.

great job! I agree with the whole idea of costumes should be easy. Most years I forgo on zippers and just use velcro. I'm with you on the procrasinating. I was just working on Andrew's this morning and I still need to finish Makayla's. My goal is to have them done tomorrow.
