Mac now goes by Stan

We had the tough decision of giving Mac away to another family. Paige just couldn't handle him nicely, and I was growing tired of yelling at her. I decided that I shouldn't compromise her stablility by yelling at her about a family pet . . . somehow that just doesn't seem right. I can just see her now joining the circus fresh out of jr. high school, and all because I put her needs after the family dog. Hey, it could happen. Anyway, Mac's new family picked him up last Friday afternoon. They have another mini schnauzer, so that will be good for him. They also renamed him Stan. We all hope Stan is happy in his new home. He was a good little guy and we'll miss him. Here are the last few pics we have of him and the kids in the pool outside.

More pics from the Wild Animal Park!

A picture in the giant egg is a tradition!

All wet from the splash pad

The lions were so close to us!

If we don't have cotton candy, we'll die!

We went to visit Grandma Barbs and Grandpa Har for Labor Day. While Shane and Har went golfing we went to the wild animal park, which is always so much fun. The kids had a great time. They say their favorite was the bird show. All day Ty and Paige begged for cotton candy. I tried to convince them that they would rather have an icee or an icecream. (it was really hot outside.) We finally gave in . One large cotton candy and two large icees. They dug right into the cotton candy and a few bites later, guess what they would rather have, a large icee. Needless to say, Barbs and I handed over the icees and the cotton candy ended up in the trunk.

A bad day

Poor Paigey had a rotten day yesterday. It started out bad at church and just got worse from there. After church we headed to the park to let the kids play and ran into a couple friends there. They were grilling hotdogs on the charcoal grill there by the picnic tables. Paige ran right up to it and put both of her hands right on it. Now she has two giant blisters, one on each hand. We kept it cool, but she cried . . . no, screamed, for two hours. Now, as a mom, what the heck can you do about a burn. Nothing. It just hurts. We gave her a healthy dose of ibuprofren and a little Nyquil to help her sleep. She slept the whole night and doesn't seem too bothered by them today. I feel horrible that I didn't tell her that stove was hot. I didn't even think to say it. Sometimes we all have to learn the hard way. I hope you don't think I'm demented for taking pictures of it.

Gimme a BIG MAC with a side order of adorable!

We have a new addition to the family. His name is Big Mac and we picked him up today. He's 6 weeks old, a salt and pepper miniature schnauzer. Oh man he's cute! The kids are so excited . . . o.k. it's me that's so excited. He's so small and he'll probably only be 10 lbs fully grown. Enjoy the pictures!
