Surgery

I had my gallbladder removed yesterday and everything went great. Is it weird that I kinda. . no . . . .REALLY wanted to see that little varmint of an organ that caused me so much pain! No such luck. I suppose the Vicodin would have erased that memory anyway. I'm excited to resume a somewhat normal diet and let go of the fear that an attack could happen anytime or anywhere. Gallbladder attacks = extreme yuckiness!
My saint of a mother-in-law is here right now vacuuming my floors, scrubbing my bathrooms, burping my sweet baby, walking Tyler to the bus, cooking dinners, and listening to some annoying Christmas album of Alvin and the Chipmunks over and over with Paige. I can't begin to say how thankful I am for my friends and family!

1st day of 2nd grade!

Monday was the first day of school for Ty. The look on his face tells all! He was nervous. I just hated putting him on the bus with that panicky sad look on his face. I watched the bus pull away with his tiny face in the window and my heart went out to the little guy. I remember being nervous for my first days of school too. Turns out everything went great for him. He's very observant and it often takes him 2-3 weeks to really find some good buddies. He watches them in his class to make sure that he's not teaming up with a troublemaker. Today his teacher called me to clear up something with reading and said that Tyler is a good little boy and she's so excited that he is in her class. Just what a mom wants to hear!

My mom rocks!

My mom has been here at the house since Friday the 25th. I can't even begin to tell you how much help she's given, especially to Paige and Tyler. She taught Paige every nursery rhyme in history. . . all in one sitting. She read Paige bizillions of books. They caught all sorts of bugs for their bug jars. She sat out by the little backyard pool all afternoon with them. She read Matilda with Tyler every night before bed. She played checkers and memory with them. They were sad to see her go tonight. We LOVE you mom . . . and Grandma!
